"Maartje" a Custom Aquastar 38
As a former sailor, the owners of the "Maartje" were looking for a tough, not fast sailing, ship to explore the inland waterways of Europe.
The Aquastar 38 caught the eye, and in 1998 a hull was ordered from Qua-Star Ltd in Guernsey. The ship was finished in the Netherlands, under own management. The choice was made for a luxurious, teak panelling with many curves.
In the front of the ship a spacious owner's cabin with a freestanding bed and lots of daylight. A separate shower with washbasin, a guest cabin with double bed, a separate toilet and a spacious kitchen with the necessary equipment and also here much daylight.
In the saloon on the port side the steering system with the necessary equipment and a good view all around. In addition to the starboard steering position, there is a spacious "sailor's" couch, a comfortable sitting couch and a large "fold-out" table.
Through the opening (in four) doors you enter the spacious open cockpit with a bench.
A ship to stay on for a long time thanks to the double glazing and Kabola heating.
Also on the outside the ship has a "rich" appearance, partly due to the lacquered woodwork. A ship where you can get on board in no time and sail along to new areas.
